Lady Bulldog lifters finish second in SAC meet

Paced by a pair of Sunshine Athletic Conference champions, Zephyrhills Girls’ Weightlifting team finished second in Wednesday’s SAC meet at the Dog House at Zephyrhills High School.

Bri Padron at Unlimited and Bella Patrias at 199 captures SAC gold for the Bulldogs. Padron powered a 175 bench and 175 clean and jerk while Patrias won her class with a 145 bench and a 130 clean and jerk.

Sunlake was the dominant squad winning the meet with five individual titles ad amassing 78 points. Zephyrhills finished with 47, followed by Cypress Creek with 39, Pasco with 20, Wiregrass with 18, Land O’ Lakes with 10 and Wesley Chapel with eight.

The Lady Bulldogs had a pair of runner up finishes with Payton Leidy at 110 and Sharibel Vazquez at 119. Leidy had a combine 220 and Vasquez tallied 230 pounds. Kaylin Miller put on an impressive performance at 110 with a 215 total registering personal bests in both lifts.

Autumn Spoon was third at 169 with a combined lift of 310 pounds. Other Bulldog lifters contributing were Makayla Compton, Jaedyn Seigler (101); Alayla Rose (119); Ava Stephens (129), Juliette Fernandez (139); Tori Goodman, Bailee Hitchner (154); Rhianna Giles (169); Kennedy Arnot, Lariah Graham (183); Anais Martinez (199) and Coryn Graham (UNL).
