Judith Kay Leitzke

Judith Kay Leitzke, 79 of Zephyrhills, Florida passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024 surrounded by loving family.

Judi grew up in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin which led to her love for the Green Bay Packers. You couldn’t know Judi without knowing her enthusiasm for the Packers. She raised her family in Winter Haven, Florida, which is where she started her nursing career. Judi was a registered nurse who had a gift for serving others. Over her forty plus years as a nurse, she worked at Lake Wales Hospital, Winter Haven Hospital, Pasco Regional Hospital, and Advent Hospital Zephyrhills.

She later spent many years serving as a home health nurse. Prior to her retirement, Judi found her passion as a traveling nurse, working in seven different states. She and Jim loved to travel, whether in their motor home or motorcycle they were always looking forward to their next adventure, ultimately visiting all forty-eight lower states.

Judi is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, James Leitzke; brother, Ken Lauffer; 3 children – Karen Fussell, Ricky (Michelle) Jackson, Cary (Stacie) Jackson, and; 11 grandchildren – Heather, James, Jessica, Kyle, Rachael, Nick, Kayla, Cameron, Savannah, Payton, and Emma; and 13 great-grandchildren – Madison, Kaden, June, Abigail, Adilyn, Kaysen, Colton, Levi, Folsom, Londyn, Luke, Amelia and Kai.

Along with her parents, Judi is predeceased by her son, Ken, daughter, Shari, and son-in-law, Keith. We take comfort in knowing she enjoyed a family welcoming committee in Heaven.

Though our hearts are heavy, we know she is pain free and will be remembered fondly. Please join us for Judi’s Celebration of Life, August 3, 2024, at 10:00, Fairview Community Church in Zephyrhills. The burial will be held at Florida National Cemetery at a later date.
