
The Zephyrhills High School JROTC named its top five for the 2025-26 school year at the battalion’s Military Ball Saturday at Hunter’s Green Country Club.
The Battalion Commander for the 2025-26, Matthew Golfarb, gave a tearful acceptance speech while thanking his instructors, cadets and his parents for preparing himself for the leadership role.
Joining Golfard in the battalion’s top five are Executive Officer Michael Lasalle, Command Sergeant Major Kendra Carter, Sergeant Major Sophia Cabrera and Battalion Operation Officer Walker Elmore.
The Military Ball serves as a sendoff for the ZHS JROTC seniors and command staff as well as a promotion ceremony for the incoming officers.
The seniors leaving the program are Battalion Commander Emily Mohler, Tyler Story, Savannah Warden, Dakota Allen, Mason McDonald, De’Shei Johnson, Joalik Cruz, Carlos Urbina, Malachi Penix, Devin Wharton and Jayden Hiscock.
