Zephyr Christian to Open Preschool

Zephyr Christian Church has announced the opening of a Christian preschool for the 2023 school year. The Train Up A Child Preschool will offer a comprehensive program for three and four year old students that prepares the child for kindergarten, in a caring atmosphere that emphasizes character development and moral training in an age appropriate manner.

According to Zephyr Christian Church pastor, Jon Stradtner, the preschool program will be fully accredited and offer a Christian Bible-based curriculum designed for three- and four-year-old children.

Stradtner added, “We intend that Train Up A Child will meet and exceed all of the normal requirements of a preschool program.” He went on to explain that Zephyr Christian Church has always offered a comprehensive religious and spiritual education program for all ages, especially children. In addition to Sunday and Wednesday programs for children, for over ten years the church has offered a preschool program known as Thursday School. In 2023 the church decided to discontinue the one-day Thursday School and expand the program into the Train Up A Child Preschool.

Pastor Stradtner pointed to Proverbs 22:6 as the origin of the name, as well as the visionof the preschool. The Bible verse states, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. “We believe,” Stradtner explained, “that it is important to teach children while they are still young and prepare them for a lifetime of learning and growth.”

The preschool is scheduled to open August 10 with part-day and full-day options available. For more information, parents and other interested parties may contact the church office attrainupachild@Zephyrchristianchurch.org or call 616-560-8901.
