The Zephyrhills Police Department is now equipped with a new Mobile Command Unit truck.
The renovated vehicle was formerly used by the City of Zephyrhills – Government Utilities Department, as a camera truck for the city sewer system.
The Mobile Command Unit will be used in emergency situations and high-level investigations, allowing ZPD officials to swiftly set up incident command nearby a scene, fostering quicker decision-making and greater situational awareness.
“This gives us tge opportunity to better serve the public during community events and efficiently respond to high-risk incidents,” said ZPD Chief Derek Brewer.
The inside of the truck features various work stations, consoles and a command room, as well as an interior red light system.
