Kelly “KK” Boyd passed away on July 8, 2021 at the young age of 52 in Dade City, where she was a lifelong resident.
Kelly worked as a clinic assistant, NOT a nurse, at Cox Elementary forever. She was dedicated to “her kids” and volunteered countless additional hours with Toys for Tots, Thomas Promise and local churches as well as individuals to help provide and care for them. Kelly had the biggest heart of anyone and you were blessed to know her.
Kelly’s proudest accomplishment would be raising her niece and nephew as her own. She loved and sacrificed for Zack and Josie and was always so proud of the young adults they became.
Kelly was preceded in death by her mother Barbara Abney and boyfriend Margarito. She is survived by her sisters Jennifer Boyd, Mary Ann Kennard (& Keith), Erin Zelaya, brothers Richard Abney and Jason Abney, nieces and nephews Zack Abney (& Lupe), Josie Abney, Cameron Abney, Dalton Kennard (& McKayla), Chelsea Kennard and JJ Abney and countless extended family members who will miss her as well.
Per her wishes, Kelly is being cremated and we will be having a celebration of life ceremony for friends and family to honor and remember her on Tuesday, July 13 from 4 to 6 PM. There was also a candlelight vigil at Cox Elementary Sunday, July 11.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Toys for Tots or Thomas Promise in her name.
