Wreck claims Zephyrhills man, 21, and a 65-year-old NY woman
A 21-year-old Zephyrhills man and a 65-year-old woman from Williamstown, NY died in a near head-on crash on Eiland Boulevard this morning.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, at approximately 6:47 a.m. today, the male driver was traveling westbound on Eiland east of Skipper Lane when, for some unknown reason, he entered the eastbound lane and hit the woman’s vehicle nearly head-on.
After the impact, the man’s vehicle rotated and overturned and the woman’s car rotated and struck a mailbox on the south shoulder of the road. The female driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the male died at a local hospital.
Florida Highway Patrol does not release the names of accident victims.
