Main Street Zephyrhills host tree lighting at City Hall
A beacon of the Christmas season shined brightly at Zephyrhills City Hall Thursday as Main Street Zephyrhills launched the season with the annual tree lighting ceremony.
The tree was displayed and lit in the courtyard at City Hall. In recent years, the tree lighting was held at Jeffries House.
Zephyrhills Mayor Gene Whitfield addressed the dozens of people who came out to see the massive tree light up the night time sky.
The tree lighting is opening event of Main Street’s holiday kickoff which will be followed by Saturday’s Festival of Lights. The event starts at 4 p.m. and the parade will begin to roll down Fifth Avenue at 7 p.m.
