Due to the forecast of thunderstorms this afternoon, the Founders Day Festival and Parade set for today has been cancelled. The Theme of this year’s event “From Founders to Future” was to also honor the ZHS graduating Class of 2022.
Main Street Director Faith Wilson said public safety officials were consulted and determined that the impending weather would be a safety concern., Wilson said there is no rain date set for the event and Founders Day will resume at its regularly set date in March, 2023.
City Manager Billy Poe reported that the city will discuss the possibility of rescheduling the event in the near future.
