A 53-year-old Zephyrhills man was struck and killed Tuesday night while crossing County Road 54, just west of Forbes Road.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the man was hit by a motorcycle while walking across County Road 54. The 33-year-old motorcyclist of Zephyrhills received serious injuries when the vehicle swerved off the road upon impact, throwing him into brush along the shoulder. He was wearing a helmet.
FHP reported the accident happened at 8:47 p.m. The motorcycle was headed west when the pedestrian walked north into its path.
The Highway Patrol did not release the names of the victims.
