Knight to lead Zephyrhills City Council

Proctor, Wilkeson take the oath of office

Zephyrhills City Councilwoman Jodi Wilkeson and Councilman Charlie Proctor took the oath of office Thursday night to start another three-year term.

After running unopposed this year, the two veteran officials stood before city clerk Lori Hillman as she administered the oath during the special meeting.

During the brief meeting, the City Council reorganized with councilman Alan Knight elected as council president replacing Proctor and Wilkeson will again serve as vice president.  Councilmember Liaison Appointments were made with Proctor representing the city in the Ridge League of Cities, Ken Burgess will serve as the liaison to the Chamber of Commerce and the Tourist Development Council. Wilkeson will be the city’s representative on Main Street Zephyrhills. Lance Smith and Mayor Gene Whitfield will serve on the county’s Metropolitan Planning Organization.
