It was a bidding frenzy on the inside and a swap meet on the outside at the DAX Auto Auction, Swap Meet and Car Show at Festival Park.
The three-day event, held in the fall and spring every year, saw thousands of car enthusiasts and collectors flow through the festival grounds looking for that hard to find part to complete a restoration or finding that bargain on the auction block.
“I just love seeing what some of these cars go for at the auction,” said Fred Diaz of Tampa. “Sometimes, I see a car go for more than I expect and then I see one that’s a steal.”
A classic car show and a car sale corral filled sections of the grounds where owners were rewarded with awards or some cash for selling their rides.
