ZHS football team sacked by COVID-19

Bulldogs forced to miss Preseason Classic

Several Zephyrhills High School football players have tested positive for COVID-19 and many others have been quarantined forcing ZHS to drop out of the Aug. 20 Preseason Classic three-way scrimmage with Zephyrhills Christian Academy and Gainesville Buchholz.

ZHS Athletic Director Bruce Cimorelli reported this morning that roughly 20 varsity players have been affected and that number could rise.

This is the second year in a row that COVID-19 has affected the program.
