Despite a 5-0 loss Wednesday to Mulberry, the Bulldogs sit at 7-7 on the season, which is the most wins in a season since the Bush Administration.
After starting the season 0-3, the Bulldogs went on to win four of their next five games outscoring opponents 18-5 in those wins. Following an 8-0 loss to Wiregrass, the Bulldogs went on to win three of four.
Zephyrhills has seven games remaining needing four wins for a winning season. The Bulldogs are paced by the scoring duo of Pablo Alvarez and Alex Nesbeth.
“Six wins are the most we’ve had since I’ve been coach and I researched it and it goes back further than that,” said Head Coach John Soellner. “We have a few more winnable games. If we win the games we should win and pull off an upset or two, we’ll have a winning season.”
