Following an 0-6 start to the 2021-22 season, Zephyrhills Girls’ Soccer coach Katie Jeffcott sees Friday’s 0-0 tie with rival Pasco as a victory of sorts.
This is the second meeting of the two teams with the Pirates claiming the first game 9-3 at WF Edwards Stadium last month. Pasco was paced by junior Emily Sutton.
This time, Jeffcott had a game plan to shut down Sutton and it appeared to work as the junior forward failed to score.”
“Our only goa lwas to shut her down and we did it,” Jeffcott said. “That speaks to what a great player she is.”Sadly, neither did the Bulldogs. One goal would have gave them the first win of the season.
“I can’s say I was expecting to win, especially after the last time we played them, but to come out with a scoreless tie is great,” Jeffcott said. “have a great defense and there is a lot of speed.”
