2025 Baseball vs Softball ends in 8-8 tie

In another epic battle, the Zephyrhills High School Baseball vs Softball game didn’t disappoint with the annual fundraising clash ending in an 8-8 tie.

The event, used as a fundraiser for both programs, is the highest attended game for both teams as hundreds of fans turned out to see who would claim the bragging rights for 2025.

In a game that saw the varsity baseball squad cruise to an early 8-2 lead, the softball team chipped away and knotted the game at 8 apiece in the final inning. There were amazing defensive plays, controversial calls, and home runs, but in the end, it was just for fun to raise much-needed funds for each program.

“This is great for the community,” said Zephyrhills assistant baseball coach Tim Dobbins. “This is what Zephyrhills is all about. We had a great night, and this night was just fantastic. This is what everybody talks about every year. This is fun and it gets competitive.”

The competition was strong, but it was also fun as baseball players had to learn windmill pitching and had to hit against the Lady Bulldogs pitching staff.

“The crowd is always good for this game,” said Lady Bulldogs coach Kristen Dumont. “It competitive and we learned that we have some work to do.

The JV game was nearly as evenly matched as the baseball team came away with a 15-4 win.
