W.G. “buddy” Hollyfield, 90 of Zephyrhills met the Lord July 13. Known simply as “Dr. Buddy” to many, he pastored Presbyterian churches in Alabama, Georgia and Florida for over 45 years.
He earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in 1977. Buddy later was a chap[lain at Advent Health Zephyrhills where he prayed for patients and comforted them with his humor and wit.0
Until his health prevented it, he was very active in the community, serving on numerous boards and chairing committees. He was a proud Alabama fan.
Buddy is survived by bus wife, Wendy and his loving family. Services will be private at Bushnell National Cemetery. Memorial contributions are preferred in lieu of flowers to First Congregational Church of Zephyrhills (Fort King Road) or the AdventHealth Zephyrhills Foundation.
