SummerFest kicks off at Zephyr Park

July 4 community event packs the park

SummerFest kicked off today in Zephyr Park today with dozens of vendors, community contests like watermelon eating contests, hot dog eating contest and a kid’s dance-off. There will be free giveaways, raffles and the sounds of DJ Express.

The event will have an amazing finale with a fireworks show at 9 p.m.

Live bands will fill the evening air starting at 5:30 p.m. with two of Tampa Bay’s favorite new country artists, Fast4Ward and Crossfire Creek Band. The bands will play until sunset leading up to the 30-minute fireworks display over Zephyr Lake. Seating is limited. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, and coolers for maximum comfort around the lake.

The vendor market features hand-made home decor, soap, local cottage bakers, artisans, jewelers, and fun patriotic items and glow toys to take home.

There are several bounce houses and waterslides with a $5 bounce-all-day kid wristband. Proceeds will benefit the local Samaritan Project charity from Zephyrhills.

To satisfy the taste buds, food trucks and dessert vendors have plenty of festival food for sale including cool treats, drinks and eats. Vendors all accept cash or card.

Stop by all the sponsor booths for free SummerFest giveaways, photo stops, photo booths with free prints, and learn more information about the businesses that helped make the event possible.
