A 38-year-old Tampa woman was struck and killed yesterday evening after walking into the path of a SUV on US 301, just north of SR 56, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP reported the SUV, driven by a 21-year-old Orlando man, was traveling southbound on US-301, north of SR-56. The pedestrian was walking northbound on the shoulder of the highway and for some unknown reason, walked into the path of the SUV.
She was subsequently struck by the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries at the scene.
