Dogpound Sports Bar and Arcade sees the $100,000 fundraising milestone

Wendy Turmel of the Dogpound Sports Bar and Arcade sees the $100,000 fundraising milestone on the horizon and is hoping to hit it during a special event Tuesday, May 27.

Turmel, who has raised nearly $95,000 so far, has helped dozens of local organizations by hosing fundraising bingo nights, trivia events, raffles and more at her Fifth Avenue establishment. She has invited all of those groups back for the biggest fundraiser and win a portion of the proceeds from the evening.

“I need people to realize that they need to show up in full force,” Turmel said. “They need to pack the inside, pack the patio and pack everywhere and come and spend money.”

Turmel started her journey to help local organizations raise money in the summer of 2024. In less than a year, she has her sights set on hitting the $100,000 mark. The event will feature thousands of dollars in prizes, raffles, and auction items.

She will also have the bingo, and trivia along with raffles, silent auctions, and live auctions. Dinner will also be available. Organization returning to the Dogpound will be entered in the drawing to win a portion of the proceeds if they bring at least five people who actively participate in the fundraiser, bring a raffle basket, or raffle item valued at a minimum of $25 or $25 in scratch off lottery tickets.

Turmel asks everyone to share the Dogpound’s social media posts regarding this event to help promote it.

“I am super excited, but I am a nervous wreck that I am not going to hit,” Turmel said. “I was just going to do a couple of fundraisers, help some kids out and feel good about it and help my business at the same time. Never did I ever think that this little bit of time later, that we’d be pushing $100,000.”
