Founder’s Day future unclear

Get your Halloween costumes ready and be sure to be prepared to get into the Christmas spirit. Main Street Zephyrhills has announced the return of Halloween Howl and the Festival of Lights Christmas Parade.

The adorable and the scary will hit Fifth Avenue Saturday, Oct. 30 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with vendors lining the streets, local businesses and organization handing out candy and the costume parade. If that isn’t enough, look for the haunted house, haunted hayride and a new feature – a ghost tour.

When it comes to Christmas parades, the Festival of Lights is a huge event downtown with the parade route packed to see the dozens of floats, vehicles, bands and of course, Santa Claus at the end of the parade ushering in the Christmas season.

The 2021 Theme is Candyland Christmas. Included in the evening’s festivities will be the annual tree lighting ceremony at the Jeffries House. The Festival of Lights event is set to take over Fifth Avenue Saturday, Dec. 4 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
