Covid Has Greater Impact Than Cases

Schools Face Quarantine Challenges

The impact of COVID-19 on local schools continues to grow despite a minimal number of actual cases. 

As of Monday, there were 11 cases in local schools resulting in the quarantines of 368 students and 22 staff members, according to the Pasco County Schools, COVID-19 online data.

Although Zephyrhills High had just three reported cases, the contact tracing conducted by the school impacts 261 students and 13 members of the Bulldog staff.

West Zephyrhills Elementary has 6 reported cases of COVID-19 affecting 59 students and seven staff members. Woodland Elementary has one case with 19 students quarantined along with 2 staff members.

RB Stewart Middle School reportedly had a single case affecting 23 students.
