PCFR makes dramatic save at crash scene
Pasco County Fire Rescue personnel made a dramatic save at the scene of this afternoon’s two-vehicle crash that shutdown US 301 at Centennial Road.
PCFR released a social media post reporting that personnel saved a life of an unresponsive victim at the scene. The victim was not breathing when removed from the vehicle.
PCFR ambulanced had not arrived on the scene, but firefighters placed the victim in the back of the cab of a fire truck and continued CPR and other life-saving methods reviving the victim.
Six patients were transported — some to an area Trauma Center. Some extrication was needed as well.
Faced with a serious crash just two blocks from their station, the crew of Ladder 32 rapidly assessed the situation and went to work with triage and transport. Engine 36 was nearby and next to arrive. Six ambulances were dispatched along with the Squad. After further assessing the patients, one was airlifted.
