District announces plan for all high school to host 2021 graduations
The Zephyrhills High School Class of 2021 will graduate on Tom Fisher Field at Bulldog Stadium with double the capacity of the 2020 event.
Zephyrhills High School Principal Dr. Christina Stanley announced this afternoon the ceremony will take place June 3 at 9 a.m. at Bulldog Stadium with each graduate permitted to have four guests.
Last year, graduates were limited to two guests. This year, each graduate can have four guests. Two of the guests will join the graduate on the field. Two other guests will be seated in the bleachers.
The tentative plan is to have the stage set up in the southern part of the stadium near the scoreboard with graduates and two family members seated on the field.
The Pasco County School District made these plans after being notified recently that the Yuengling Center at USF will not be available for the school district’s 2021 graduations in June.
“It is great news,” Dr. Stanley said. “We already have our plan. We know what we loved about last year and we know what we want to fix from last year. It’s going to be fine.”
Every high school in the Pasco County School District will be hosting its each individual graduation ceremonies which will be similar to the in-person events held for Pasco graduates last year, with the significant differences.
“We know how important it is to the graduates to walk across the stage and receive their diploma in person. And we know how important it is to have family there to celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime experience,” said Kurt Browning, Pasco Superintendent of Schools. “This plan makes that possible while keeping everyone safe.”
