The 2025 Little League season opened Saturday morning at Sam Pasco Park with several hundred local children ready to swing for the fences.
From T-Ball to the senior division, teams, coaches and sponsors were introduced to nearly 1,000 cheering people who lined the outside fence cheering on their favorite baseball or softball player.
To kickoff the season for the 31 sponsored teams, longtime coach and umpire Jim Johnston was surprised with the honor of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.
Minor Division Softball player Emily Gomez recited the Little League Pledge, and the Zephyrhills High School JROTC honor guard presented the colors for the National Anthem.
The Zephyrhills Little League regular season will run until May 10.
