On paper, the scoreboard read a 49–30 loss to Wiregrass Ranch. But for the home crowd packed inside the gym, the game was only the backdrop to a night defined by gratitude, reflection, and one final farewell.
Before tipoff, the spotlight shifted to the three seniors — JT Sykes, Judith Audet, and Ashley Camara — as they walked to center court alongside their families. What followed was a heartfelt recognition of their journeys: gifts, flowers, banners, and thunderous applause carrying through the gym as each player embraced coaches and loved ones. For all three girls, it was the final home game, and the crowd made sure every second felt worthy of the moment.
As Wiregrass Ranch controlled the game on the scoreboard. For Gildon, the night wasn’t judged by the final score, but by the growth he witnessed throughout the season—especially within his trio of seniors.
“You know, JT just recently moved here, so to see her grow over a season is important,” Gildon said. “The other two seniors have been here for a few years, so, you know, it’s just great to see the maturity.”
For the coach, Senior Night was a rare window into both the future and the past—an ending and a beginning blended into one moment.
“I look at the younger team, the younger players, and I’m like, hey, I can’t wait for a few years when they get the same maturity that these seniors are showing tonight,” he said. “So, I mean, the great thing about this is you see the end and you see the start all in one season.”
The Bulls may have left with the win, but the Lady Bulldogs walked away with something deeper: a celebration of growth and a final memory for three seniors last on their home court.
