Lamar Calhoun, 91of Zephyrhills passed from this life into eternal life on Monday April 28, 2025, at his home in Zephyrhills.
Lamar was born in Plant City, FL on October 6, 1933. The Son of L.O. and Berma Mae (Dunlap) Calhoun. Lamar grew up with his 2 brothers and 2 sisters in several central Florida parsonages as his father was a local Baptist Pastor to many.
In 1954 Lamar enlisted in the United States Army and married his love Helen Watson of Mulberry Florida. They settled in Zephyrhills to raise their 5 children David, Karen, Robin, Patrick, and Scott (Sherry) Calhoun.
Lamar went on to graduate from Florida Southern College with a B.A. in Business. He was a teacher for the Pasco County School system for several years before moving on in his business career where he worked in the Poultry Industry until he retired.
Lamar is survived by all his 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
All who know him will miss his presence and cherish the gentle lessons and examples of love he shared daily.
Visitation will be on May 5th at 11am with funeral services following at noon. Services are being held at Hodges Funeral Home at 36327 Hwy 54 Zephyrhills.
