In a heartwarming show of community spirit, the Zephyrhills Youth Council, along with Kevin Bahr of Bahr’s Propane Gas & A/C, Inc. and Beth Ray Aker of Meals on Wheels of Pasco, presented an $11,000 check this week to CHIPZ — the Community Hope & Intervention Project of Zephyrhills.
The donation represents a powerful collaboration between local businesses, community leaders, and residents. The funds will provide immediate assistance for Zephyrhills families in need, helping cover essential expenses such as housing, clothing, utilities, and other critical support services.
According to organizers, the contribution was made possible through the generosity of 20 local business owners and individual donors, as well as the many residents who purchased tickets to a special fundraising barbecue. Their collective support helped turn a simple idea into a significant impact for neighbors facing hardship.
Mayor Melonie Monson praised the effort, saying, “I hope this is just a jumping off point and we can continue to support those in need.”
The donation marks a meaningful step forward and highlights the compassion that defines Zephyrhills. From business owners to students to everyday residents, the community once again proved that when people come together, real change happens.
