It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mary Ruth Henning on January 19, 2025, at the age of 43. Mary was born on January 25, 1981 in Lakeland, Florida to Ed and Terri (nee Rummel) Henning.
Mary lived most of her life in Zephyrhills, FL. She always wanted to have a family of her own. She had a son, Daniel Prouse, 2 weeks into her senior year of high school. Even though she was a young mother and wife, Mary stayed in school and still graduated with her class at Zephyrhills High School in 2000. After high school Mary became a devoted stay at home mother. Mary volunteered for many years as a library assistant at Daniel’s school. Daniel’s father, Brian, and Mary remained friends after their divorce.
Mary always wanted to help people. She turned that passion into a calling when she earned her CNA license. Mary worked in Healthcare for over 13 years, and over a decade at Solaris Healthcare Zephyrhills. Every patient loved her, and she quickly turned all her coworkers into close friends.
Mary loved to travel, especially with family. She loved spending time with her parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, but she spent as much time as she could with the most important person in her life, Daniel. Mary was up for anything, but especially enjoyed going to concerts, amusement parks, and the casino. Her lifelong favorites were Halloween, sugar skulls, Dale Earnhardt Sr, Marvin the Martian, Rock, Country, and anything purple.
Mary was generous and selfless, almost to a fault. She always made sure everyone around her was happy and having fun. She donated blood every chance she could. Mary’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ donation.
Mary is survived by her loving son, Daniel, her parents, Ed (Barbara) Henning and Terri Avila, her sister, Sarah(Bill) Steen, her brother, Matt(Leah) Henning, her aunt Sharon Rummel, and countless more grieving friends and family.
A celebration of life will be held at Family of God Baptist Church,
