Bulldogs handle Hudson 64-49

Kayin Shive dropped a game-high 23 points to lead Zephyrhills to a 64-49 win over visiting Hudson Friday night at the Dog House.

Shive was hot behind the three-point arc canning four threes including three in the third quarter to help the Bulldogs pull away.

Zephyrhills held a 26-22 lead at the half after Julius Denson dropped six of his 12 points in the second quarter. Shive’s hot hand in the third quarter along with key shooting from Samarian Black and Chauncey Smith stretched Zephyrhills’ lead to 45-33 heading into the fourth quarter.

Black, Denson and Smith stayed hot in the fourth quarter to help the Bulldogs cruise to the win. Zephyrhills will use this win to gain momentum heading into Wednesday’s season finale and senior night at home against rival Pasco.

“A win is a good and it helps us our for sure,” said head coach Mike Novak. “It’s was good to get a win. I hope it sets us for Wednesday. We hope to build of this win so we can send those seniors out the right way.”
