5th Annual Softball vs. Baseball Showdown returns on Friday, Feb. 6

The Zephyrhills High School campus is buzzing with excitement as the 5th Annual Softball vs. Baseball Showdown returns on Friday, Feb. 6..

This beloved community tradition pits the Lady Bulldogs softball team against the Bulldogs baseball squad in a fun, friendly exhibition that raises funds and school spirit ahead of the spring season. The action kicks off at the softball field located at 6335 12th St. with JV teams taking the diamond at 6 p.m., followed by the Varsity showdown at 7:15 p.m.

Fans can arrive early—pick-up for pre-ordered pulled pork dinners begins at 5 p.m. and runs through 6:30 p.m. right at the field. For just a $10 donation, supporters can enjoy delicious pulled pork dinners while directly benefiting both the ZHS softball and baseball programs. This annual clash has become a highlight of the Zephyrhills sports calendar, blending fierce (but good-natured) competition with community camaraderie. The Lady Bulldogs, fresh off their preseason preparations, look to defend their bragging rights against the baseball boys, who are gearing up after their own early-season workouts.

Past showdowns have delivered memorable moments: clutch hits, highlight-reel plays, and plenty of laughs as the two squads trade jabs and showcase their talents in a mixed-rules format that keeps everyone guessing. Whether you’re a die-hard Bulldog fan, a family looking for Friday night fun, or just someone who loves great barbecue and high school sports, this event delivers.

Bring your friends, your appetite, and your Bulldog pride—it’s sure to be another unforgettable night under the lights in Zephyrhills!
