Tragic Accident Claims 51-year old Zephyrhills Life

A tragic multi-vehicle crash on Chancey Road in Pasco County claimed the life of a 51-year-old Zephyrhills man Friday evening, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

The incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. on March 7, east of the intersection with Yonkers Boulevard in the Zephyrhills area.

A Toyota Tacoma, driven by 29-year-old Mynor Adolfo Milian-Morales of Guatemala, an undocument alien, was traveling westbound and attempted to pass a Chevy Silverado driven by a 55-year-old Zephyrhills woman in a no-passing zone. As the Tacoma entered the eastbound lane, it collided nearly head-on with an eastbound Subaru Outback, driven by a 62-year-old man from Bell, Florida.

The force of the impact caused the Tacoma to rotate and come to rest in the eastbound lane, while the Outback spun into the westbound lane. It then struck the Silverado and, in succession, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, driven by the Zephyrhills man who was killed traveling westbound behind the Silverado.

A fifth vehicle, a Honda motorcycle was also westbound behind the Harley-Davidson. Its 27-year-old Zephyrhills driver took evasive action to avoid the pileup but lost control, causing the bike to overturn in the eastbound lane.

The 51-year-old male driver of the Harley-Davidson, from Zephyrhills, sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.

FHP reported that Milian-Morales had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.106 — above Florida’s legal limit of 0.08 — and no valid driver’s license. He was arrested at the scene and booked into the Pasco County Jail on charges including DUI Manslaughter, Driving with No License Resulting in a Death, and additional counts related to DUI with injuries and property damage.
