Bulldogs Earn First Win of 2026

The Zephyrhills Bulldogs boys baseball team looks to snap a three-game skid and earn their first win of the 2026 season tonight, hosting the 0-3 Central Bears at 7 p.m. under the lights at Zephyrhills High School in a non-conference matchup.

Fresh off a discouraging 11-1 home loss to rival Pasco Pirates on Tuesday night,, the Bulldogs (0-3) are looking to get on the winning path.

Pasco exploded for a key four-run fifth inning that blew the contest open, while starter Jake Keeling dominated on the mound—pitching 6 2/3 innings, allowing just one run, and striking out an impressive 14 Zephyrhills hitters. Keeling also contributed at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double.

The Bulldogs managed only six hits in the setback, with Yadiel Santiago leading the way by collecting two hits (including one run scored). The lone RBI came courtesy of Traiton Costello, while Aiden Yahiaui provided the team’s only extra-base hit with a double. Five different players recorded at least one hit, showing some offensive depth despite the lopsided final score.

Pasco coach Ricky Giles acknowledged the competitiveness, saying postgame, “Both teams competed. I mean, other than a few errors here and there, I thought both teams did a good job. I mean, Zephyrhills played better than what the score shows.”

Zephyrhills head coach Ralph Rogers was far more blunt in his assessment: “It was just terrible baseball,” he said after the defeat.

The loss extended Zephyrhills’ skid against Pasco to six straight games in the local rivalry, dropping the Bulldogs to 0-3 overall while boosting Pasco to 2-1.

Tonight offers a prime opportunity for redemption on home turf against a Central Bears squad also searching for its first victory of the young campaign (0-3).
