A 71-year-old man from Zephyrhills was killed Thursday in a nearly head-on collision on Otis Allen Road in Pasco County after his Suzuki motorcycle crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming Lincoln SUV.
The crash occurred west of Old Lakeland Highway when the motorcyclist, traveling eastbound, failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The rider crossed into the westbound lane and collided with a Lincoln SUV driven by a 47-year-old woman from Ridge Manor.
The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the SUV sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
