The holiday season was in full swing in downtown Zephyrhills Saturday night as the Festival of Lights Parade dazzled thousands who packed both sides of Fifth Avenue—five and six rows deep in some spots—to welcome the most wonderful time of the year.
Even Mother Nature seemed to be in the holiday spirit, holding off the rain just long enough for Father Christmas himself to make his way down the parade route, waving to cheering families as children squealed, pointed, and bounced with excitement.
The crowd was a colorful scene of holiday joy—kids wore their fun Christmas outfits, faces painted like snowmen, elves, and sparkling reindeer, watching proudly beside parents and grandparents who soaked in the festive atmosphere.
This year’s parade was one of the biggest yet, boasting more than 70 entries that kept the energy high and the holiday cheer flowing.
Floats and performers came from all corners of the community, including: Marching bands filling the street with holiday tunes, dance groups twirling under the glow of Fifth Avenue lights, local businesses and school showcasing imaginative, glittering displays and churches and youth organizations riding on decked-out trailers bursting with Christmas creativity.
And at the end of the night, four entries earned top honors for their showstopping holiday spirit. Best Costume: Woodland Elementary School, Best Theme: Downtown Dance, Best in Show: Crossroads Pentecostal Church and Most Original: Imperial Stone.
The Festival of Lights Parade once again proved why it remains one of Zephyrhills’ most beloved traditions—a night where the whole community gathers downtown, holiday magic fills the air, and even the weather seems to know it’s time to celebrate.
As Father Christmas waved farewell and the first raindrops finally began to fall, families lingered just a little longer, savoring the glow of an unforgettable night in Zephyrhills.
