
According to the Zephyrhills Police Department, officers responded around 4:36 p.m. on September 9 to the area of Meadowood Loop and Alston Avenue following reports of a juvenile shooting at a school bus.
The bus, carrying students from West Zephyrhills Elementary, was struck on the driver’s side rear window. The impact shattered the glass, causing minor injuries to one student. No other injuries were reported.
Investigators said the suspect, who had been suspended and was not authorized to ride the bus, admitted to firing the BB gun. Officers recovered and confiscated the weapon.
The juvenile was arrested and charged with shooting into a vehicle, criminal mischief, and battery. He was transported to the Pasco County Juvenile Assessment Center for processing. The Department of Children and Families was also notified, and police said the investigation remains ongoing.
