A late drive fell short as Zephyrhills dropped the Preseason Classic to Palmetto 10-6.
In a game that saw Mother Nature as a foe with rain and lightning dominating the evening, Palmetto was able to use a crucial extra point and a 42-yard field goal as the difference against the Bulldogs.
Zephyrhills’ lone TD came in the first half on a touchdown reception by senior Kingston McCullough.
The Bulldogs open the regular season Friday on the road against Springstead.
