Bulldogs Shine Under the Lights at Annual Saturday Night Lights Showcase

The sun set and the lights shined bright as the 2025 Zephyrhills Bulldogs gave their community plenty to cheer about during the annual Saturday Night Lights football event held on Tom Fisher Field.

With more than 200 fans in the stands on both sides of the stadium, the Bulldogs took the field in full pads for the first time this season, offering a sneak peek at the team aiming to claim its fifth consecutive district title.

“We had a lot of guys show out today, and it was good to see them out there playing in front of their families” said Head Coach Nick Carroll, now entering his 10th season leading the Bulldogs. “They got some good tempo and energy going. We got a lot on film that we’ll look at.”

Saturday Night Lights has become a unique Zephyrhills tradition — a chance for the community to experience a high-energy practice under the stadium lights, complete with live drills, 7-on-7 action, and a first look at the season’s lineup.

The event also marks a turning point in the offseason. After a summer filled with weight training and tournament play, the Bulldogs officially began training camp earlier this week, shifting focus toward their August 15 preseason classic against Palmetto.

Coming off an 8-4 season and a second-round appearance in the Class 4A state playoffs, the Bulldogs return to the field with high expectations and an impressive 74-27 overall record under Carroll’s leadership.

With the pads popping and the crowd buzzing, Saturday Night Lights once again proved to be more than a practice — it was the unofficial start to what could be another championship-caliber season in Zephyrhills.
